Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Friday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi amid growing speculation over the merger of the two factions of the AIADMK in the state.

Palaniswami owes his position to Sasikala after her attempt to grab was frustrated by her conviction in the assets case by the Supreme Court. "Due to an extraordinary situation, she is not able to discharge her duties". An AIADMK Amma meeting chaired by Chief Minister Palaniswami said Dhinakaran can not hold any party post as he was not a member continuously for the past five years."We are keenly watching the political situation".

"Dinakaran's appointment as Deputy General Secretary is illegal as per the party rules".

"Whatever appointments were made by T.T.V. Dinakaran are not according to the party law". OPS walked away claiming to be a man of principles and virtue to a rousing welcome by the general public and the media, while Sasikala foisted a pliable EPS as a chief minister after a long-winding drama in which both the centre and the Governor seemed to have shown some undue interest. Referring indirectly to her jail term, it said Sasikala could not function as general secretary due to "unfortunate" reasons.

OPS also wants ousting of Sasikala's family in written and a CBI inquiry into Jayalalitha's death.

The merger will finally be announced publically by the Chief Minister Edapaddi Palaniswamy after his meeting with O Panneerselvam.

Jacksonville responded by selecting Alabama left tackle Cam Robinson in the second round of the National Football League draft. He was due a base salary of $8.875 million in 2017 and $9.575 million in 2018, though none of that money was guaranteed.

The stage now also looks set for a shift in Tamil Nadu politics with faces of superstars like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan popping up at events organised by political opposition in the state, amidst rumours that Rajnikant will emerge as the face of BJP in Tamil Nadu and Kamal Hasan's vexation with the ruling AIADMK factions.

Sources say figures close to Panneerselvam, like Rajya Sabha member V Maitreyan, are opposed to him accepting the downgraded post of a deputy Chief Minister. Sasikala was not just an aide to Jaya, but the mover and shaker within the party and the government.

Ministers Dindigul C Sreenivasan and K A Sengottaiyan were among those who did not sign the resolution. Both he and the chief minister attended Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu's oath-taking ceremony on Friday morning.

Asked about the merger talks, he shot back at reporters saying "you will be informed first".

"We will come to a decision after August 20 (six months since the last floor test on February 22)". The party is also losing the support of the people the DMK leader alleged.
