Chiefs Running Back has Torn PCL, Likely Will Miss Entire Season

Significant injuries are easily the worst part of the National Football League preseason, and a number of teams are experiencing that frustrating reality again this year.

The Kansas City Chiefs watched as starting RB Spencer Ware went down with a knee injury during this week's preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks.

"We'll miss Spencer, but we'll be ok at running back", said Andy Reid. However, at this point it is more likely than not Ware will be out for the 2017 season. For his National Football League career as a whole, Ware has registered 289 carries for 1,334 yards and nine touchdowns over the course of 27 regular-season appearances.

For many fans of Bachelor Nation, this split comes as no surprise but it's still sad to see them separate. The two said in their statement that they're parting "with love and admiration" for one another.

Trysta Krick breaks down National Football League can take to shorten the preseason and (maybe) keep everyone happy. It's a tough blow for the Chiefs, as Ware led the club with 241 carries and 1,368 yards from scrimmage (921 rushing, 447 receiving) and was set to be KC's lead back with Jamaal Charles finally out of the picture. Over his four years at Toledo, Hunt touched the ball 856 times, but fumbled only once.

Hunt has already shown his talents off in preseason action, and he looks fully capable of stepping into a bigger role than the Chiefs may have planned or preferred.

Ware had an MRI on Saturday that revealed the extent of the injury.
