Average retail gasoline prices in Missouri have risen 0.9 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.04/g yester-day, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 3,940 gas outlets in Missouri.
Gasoline in Virginia is $2.15 per gallon, according to a news release from AAA Tidewater. Last week, prices rose 8.3 cents per gallon. The region remains expensive, however, with MI posting a state average that's 5 cents above the national average.
AAA unveiled their look at gas prices in the Sunshine State and across the nation on Monday.
The price in Rhode Island is 2 cents per gallon higher than the national average of $2.34. While we don't have the lowest prices in the Benton Harbor and St. Joseph area, the average has fallen almost 11¢ from a week ago to $2.39. That price is still above the national average of $2.33 a gallon, which is a 2.1 cents per gallon increase.

A separate report from the University of MI finds new-car drivers are going longer for less, with the average fuel economy for new vehicles sold in July getting about a half-mile per gallon more than those sold in June.
Drivers have benefited from a rare summer break this year due to cheap oil and strong fuel production at refineries.
Huntsville- $2.08, up 5.5 cents per gallon from last week's $2.03. But analysts warned that the reprieve would end later in the summer.
US crude oil prices have risen 16 percent from their 10-month low of $42.75 on June 21 to $49.03 per barrel on August 3, according to AAA.
