"When we broke up, he wanted to get away from me", she told Howard Stern on his radio show Thursday.

"I have to say, the greatest pleasure is watching her be a mom, watching her take care of her son and daughter and read to them and play with them", Clinton said.

Earlier this week on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon's regular "Thank You Notes" segment had a particularly heartwarming (and not just a little bit melancholy) feel to it as Hillary Clinton, who was on the show promoting her new book, What Happened, was given a "Thank You Notes" segment dedicated entirely to her.

Then Miley Cyrus took the chair and hailed Hillary as a "voice of reason in uncertain times". The song, which peaked at No. 2 on the Hot 100 in June, includes the lyrics: "never would've believed you/ If three years ago you told me/ I'd be here writing this song".

The country twang shined during "Week Without You" as Cyrus strummed her guitar, which matched the long-sleeve ivory gown she shouted out during her performance. "Thank you, Hillary, for being a constant beacon of strength, hope, and determination for me and millions of other young women", she said through tears.

USA officials had previously refrained from calling it "attacks", instead using the vague language of "incidents". The United States is kicking out 15 of Cuba's diplomats in a row over alleged attacks on USA staff in Havana.

While Clinton sat in the guest chair, the Tonight Show writers took turns at the desk and offered paeans of appreciation, such as Jasmine Pierce's: "Thank you, Hillary Clinton, for handling this hard transition with more grace than I ever could have imagined".

Miley's track Malibu is about the couple's life together, which is the first single from her latest album Younger Now. You are smart, strong, and deserving of every opportunity.

Later, Miley closed the show with a cover of Nancy Sinatra's 1960s hit "These Boots Are Made for Walking", which she dedicated to Clinton. "Miley Cyrus" stomach churns when her fiancé Liam Hemsworth works with lovely women on his films.

She continued that she has "my little spies".
