National Football League insider Field Yates reported on Tuesday that the Tennessee Titans are signing Weeden. Mularkey said there's a possibility the Titans won't know about Mariota's availability until late in the week, possibly as late as Sunday. Mularkey also said the team will prepare game plans for both Mariota and Matt Cassel, with the decision on a Week 5 starter potentially not being made until hours before Sunday's game in Miami.
Weeden has previously played for the Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans. Titans fans and Mariota fantasy owners were treated to an emotional rollercoaster in this game with the quarterback throwing two picks and rushing for two scores before hurting his hamstring.
Conte: Man City match not simple for exhausted Chelsea
His first start of the season went amazingly well and he was Chelsea's best player on the pitch. City created a chance and were very good to take the chances to score.
Cassel stepped into the picture after Mariota's exit in the Houston game and proceeded to throw two interceptions, finishing with just 21 passing yards on 4-of-10 attempts.
The team signed receiver C.J. Board, a Clarksville native who played at UT Chattanooga, to the 10-man practice squad. He will likely start if Mariota is unable to play.
