Everyone has tried to figure out exactly which ingredients make their chicken so finger-lickin' good but could KFC's Twitter account have been the answer to our questions all along?

KFC lovers have gone to great lengths to crack their secret herbs and spices recipe over the years and it seems the fast food giant has found a subtle of way of rubbing it in on Twitter. It's unclear how long the Twitter account has been following the six men named Herb and the five Spice Girls.

Five accounts belong to each of The Spice Girls: Geri Horner, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie C and Victoria Beckham. It also follows six men named 'Herb'.

It was first brought to attention on Reddit and Twitter by some eagle-eyed social media users.

"The person that runs the KFC account needs a raise", tweeted one user. It's believed the recipe created by Colonel Sanders is kept along with containers of the herbs and spices inside a sealed vault at KFC's headquarters in Louisville, Ky.

The 11 herbs and spices that go into KFC's original recipe has always been a highly guarded secret.
