A statement issued by the Coalition on Monday said it hopes the United Nations teams of experts would prevent "the smuggling of weapons, ammunitions, missile parts and cash that are regularly being supplied by Iran and Iranian accomplices to the Houthi rebels". "There are many sources of supply to Yemen, even during the past week or so".

The U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly voted for a resolution declaring that U.S. military assistance to Saudi Arabia in its war in Yemen is not authorized under previous legislation which has given the president power to combat terror overseas and invade Iraq in 2003.

The United Nations on Tuesday dismissed a Saudi demand that tighter inspections be put in place at Yemen´s rebel-held Hodeida port before a devastating blockade is lifted.

Al-Mouallimi also accused the Houthis of diverting humanitarian aid "to fulfill their own requirements" and "to trade in the black market and achieve exorbitant profits at the expense of the Yemeni people".

The conflict began in 2015 when the Houthis took over Yemen's capital of Sana'a and the Yemeni government.
