Kulgam-In a fierce gun battle between government forces and militants in Nowbug Kund area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district, a militant and a soldier were killed while a cop associated with Special Operation Group sustained injuries. As the troops laid cordon, they came under heavy fire from the militants, triggering off an encounter. "He may have done some diploma course, but not BTech", the DIG said, adding that Mudasir had joined militancy in 2015. "Since only one militant has been killed, the rest may have escaped", they said.
