Mane will reportedly not be considered for Saturday's Premier League meeting with West Ham United, with his comeback drafted in for the game against former club Southampton at Anfield after the global break on November 18.

Mane returned to training on Thursday, less than a month after suffering a hamstring injury while on global duty with Senegal, and Klopp hinted at a substitute's role for the 25-year-old at the London Stadium.

"Sadio trained with the team for first time yesterday and looked really good", he told reporters. Dejan Lovren is in line for a return after a slight thigh strain, with Ragnar Klavan likely to make way for the former Southampton man, but Philippe Coutinho is rated as 50-50 with a hip injury.

Mané is scheduled to join up with Senegal after the West Ham game for their crucial World Cup qualifying double-header against South Africa.

Klopp said he has no problem with the call-up but he would like Mane to be rested for the second match if the African nation secure their place at Russian Federation 2018.

"We can not sit here, ignore the situation of Senegal and say, "we don't care if they play at the World Cup".

Adding to his problems, the team's defensive options have been decimated by injuries to Sam Byram, Jose Fonte and James Collins, while right-back Pablo Zabaleta is suspended.

"That would be the ideal situation but we can not decide it".
