After all, Asha Kumari was indeed in for a shock of her life as she was slapped from someone belonging to bureaucratic divisions of a state her party ruled until a few days ago.
The incident took ugly turn when police trying to manage the crowd and stopped Ms Kumari from entering in the premises without an entry pass. Well, while this became quite a news, all that leaped the situation is the lady constable slapping her back at the moment.
She said: "I was pushed, manhandled, threatened with dire consequences".
Pak allows Jadhav's family to meet him
The mother and wife of Kulbhushan Jadhav held a meeting with him after Pakistani government accepted India's request. The negative propaganda sponsored by the Indian state is an act to sabotage the humanitarian effort, experts opined.
The Congress MLA later tendered an apology for the incident, saying "the lady constable misbehaved, abused me and nearly beat me, but I should not have lost my calm". No one has a right to raise the hand against someone, at least not the Congress culture.
Kumari has lodged a complaint against the woman constable, requesting an FIR in this regard. Another legislator and former Cabinet Minister Mukesh Agnihotri was also accompanying Asha Kumari. She had defeated Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) DS Thakur. The BJP wrested power from the Congress, winning close to a two thirds majority with 44 seats in the 68-member Assembly.
Kumari won from the Dalhousie constituency in the election.
