The 17-year-old girl was believed to be with Rian Rodriguez, a 27-year-old soccer coach at Fort White High School in Lake City, Fla., police said.

"We had a very lovely, wonderful, very emotional reunion with her a little while ago", the teen's mother, Scarlet Frisina, told reporters at a news conference Saturday afternoon.

But a text message she sent to a friend indicated she was with Rodriguez, CBS reported.

A trooper spotted the red Mercury somewhere in Syracuse and stopped the vehicle.

Frisina, 17, was believed to be headed north with Rian Rodriguez, 27, a boy's soccer coach at the Florida high school where Frisina is a student.

The firm was further criticised for having paid a $100,000 ransom to the hackers in order for them to stay quiet. The data breach resulted in almost 11,000 Washington Uber drivers having their data compromised.

Information from the Associated Press was used in this report. The Columbia County Sheriff's Office in Florida says the girl, who had been missing since Saturday, was detained, and Rodriguez was taken into custody.

Rodriguez is now being held in a NY jail and faces a charge of interfering with the custody of a minor.

They said Frisina left her home on her own and left her phone, which she fully erased. But I absolutely believe that she was lied to and totally misled.

They were also spotted early Sunday evening at a pawn shop in Fayetteville, Hunter said. Police were investigating the "blossoming of a potential relationship" between Frisina and Rodriguez.

Rodriguez had been working as a boys' soccer coach at Fort White High School, but was suspended pending the investigation, according to a statement from Lex Carswell, superintendent of Columbia County Schools.
