Unsafe cold will linger into New Year's Day

Brisk northwest breezes throughout the day will keep wind chills no better than the single digits by afternoon, an impressively cold feat even for the beginning of winter.

The weather service expects wind chills to fall into the 15 to 20 below zero range at times.

Anyone venturing outside this New Year's weekend should be very aware of the unsafe wind chills and frigid temperatures in Madison. Wind chills of 10-15 below.

The coldest wind chills will arrive Sunday night and will continue throughout the morning hours on Monday. Once again, we will be under a Wind Chill Advisory for the rest of the night and into Sunday. Even light winds though can cause unsafe wind chills. Be sure to take extra precaution by covering exposed skin, wearing extra layers, a coat, and gloves. You must bring in your pets and cover up well! Dry conditions will likely continue as well with no chance for any snow in the next 8 days.

Skies will become partly cloudy overnight with perhaps just a lingering flurry or two this evening.

Clinton "remains arguably more prominent than other contenders", Jones wrote in a blog post announcing the findings. It's a rare result, since, for the most part, Americans will name the current president as Most Admired Man.
