NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported the deal is for five years for Gutekunst, who has been with the Packers for 19 years and was promoted to director of player personnel on March 21, 2016. Most notably is the Packers at least showing some interest in former scout/personnel man turned Seahawks general manager John Schneider.

Gutekunst played football at UW-La Crosse for two years, then became an assistant coach for the team after a shoulder injury cut his college career short.

Some had concluded that the Packers should have looked outside of the organization for a new general manager.

Tesla delivers 100000 cars in 2017
The Model 3, which only recently started reaching a significant number of customers , tallied 1,550 deliveries in the quarter. Tesla announced Wednesday it delivered 101,312 Model S and Model X cars in 2017, a 33 percent rise over its 2016 figures.

The #Packers are hiring Brian Gutekunst as their GM. Green Bay submitted paperwork for permission to interview #Seahawks Super Bowl-winning GM John Schneider, I'm told.

Gutekunst has been with the Packers almost 20 years, joining the franchise in late 1998. The request for the Green Bay native was denied. After bouncing around the league (including a brief stint in Seattle), he returned to Green Bay in 2002 where he remained until he was named Seattle's general manager in 2010.

Gutekunst may not have been the Packers' first choice. Prior to coming to Green Bay, Gutekunst spent a season as a scouting assistant with the Chiefs. Green Bay has yet to confirm the promotion.
