Pakistan to Take 'Tough Stance' Against Trump If Aid Revoked

President Donald Trump has indicated in tweets and remarks that it could be all of it unless Pakistan took some decisive actions.

Pakistan has cooperated with the US for decades on regional security issues, but Trump is correct that the country does not always follow instructions from the USA when it comes to foreign policy, especially if its own national security is at stake, an expert said. The United States is likely to announce "suspension" of some financial assistance to Pakistan soon, as speculations swirl about impending punitive action by the Trump administration that has suddenly dialled up the rhetoric on a client state ungrateful of billions of dollars it has received in aid.

Meanwhile, data from another agency, USAID, shows that USA agencies gave around $16 billion to Pakistan between 2001 and 2017.
