Tonya Harding Just Lost Her Publicist

There's no movie about her, but there is one about the people responsible for the attack, and Kerrigan isn't much more than a glorified footnote in it. Mike Powell, Getty Images This is a police booking mug of figure skater Tonya Harding taken on March 18, 1994 at the Portland, Oregon, Justice Center, as she appeared for mug shots, fingerprinting and a probation hearing.

You may have decided that Harding was guilty of many things a long time ago, but "I, Tonya" does a handsome job of showing that her innocence was lost long before those Albertville Olympics.

These supporting performances are so authentically nonsensical and hilarious that "I, Tonya" sports one of the year's best ensembles delivering some of the best dumb-dialogue you'll hear. "Tonya was my little dynamo", she says. She told the Globe this week that hasn't seen it.

Tonya Harding is having a moment right now. He explained Harding insisted reporters sign "an affidavit staying that they won't ask her anything "about the past" or they'll be fined $25,000".

So I thought I knew what to expect with "I, Tonya" and the first half of the film pretty much sticks to the hardscrabble-childhood-abusive-mother-and-husband story. Per USA Today columnist Christine Brennan, in a Facebook post titled, "I, Tonya, is Now Goodbye, Tonya!", Rosenberg announced he was terminating their professional relationship.

The following is Vader's take on the new film about the infamous Tonya Harding/Nancy Kerrigan saga, "I, Tonya".

While Harding was a rough-around-the-edges athlete in a sport in which most toed the line in the 1990s, she still was given opportunity after opportunity to represent the United States around the world.

Or, Baker speculated, it could be the fact that since Salt Lake City is a one-time host city for the Winter Olympics (eight years after Harding and Kerrigan's face-off), we have a thing for figure skating. I, Tonya is both a poignant commentary and an involving, compassionate biopic about the rise and fall of a woman who faced seemingly insurmountable obstacles, but overcame them through her undeniable strength and resolve. Tonight, don't miss the astonishing interview AND jaw-dropping television event - "Truth & Lies: The Tonya Harding Story", tonight at 9 on ABC7.

All the newfound attention is pushing Harding to sharpen her skills on the ice. Simon Bruty, Getty Images Jeff Gillooy, ex-husband of figure skater Tonya Harding, is escorted out of the Federal Bureau of Investigation office after surrendering shortly after a warrant for his arrest was issued. In one instance depicted in the film, Golden throws a steak knife at her daughter, which lodges in Harding's arm. And while Harding hasn't held back in the press, Kerrigan hasn't spoken about the film's release - until now.

"I knew that something was up", Harding told ABC News earlier this month of Gillooly's alleged plan to whack Kerrigan out of the competition. "Tonya herself called us trailer trash". She was edged out of a gold medal by a tenth of a point.
