Microsoft also made a few Windows Subsystem for Linux updates in 17093, including the ability to make WSL more configurable using wsl.conf and the ability to communicate between WSL and Windows applications over Unix sockets. Even if you don't use Windows 10 S right now, you might be able to access this feature someday.

Now the Store's limited software catalog could be about to get a substantial boost, as Microsoft prepares to open the Store to a host of new software.

Microsoft has released a new Windows 10 Redstone 4 Insider Preview build (aka Windows 10 Spring Creators Update) and if any of us thought the development phase was nearly finished, we were definitely wrong.

Following the next Windows 10 update, codenamed "Redstone 4", the Microsoft Store will start listing the PWAs inside the Microsoft Store, with Microsoft getting ready to add what it considers to be the best PWAs to the Store.

The company said their Bing Crawler has been working for nearly a year to find quality PWAs on the web which will populate the Store in the coming weeks.

"Just download the Authenticator App and use it to set up your Windows 10 S PC", instructed Dona Sarkar, head of the Windows Insider Program, and Brandon LeBlanc, senior program manager at Microsoft, in February 7 blog post.

Los Angeles tops global congestion ranking for sixth straight year
And when it comes to nighttime travel, Los Angeles city streets ranked better than those of 35 other cities. The study also calculated that the jams are costing us £37.7bn per year - around £1,168 per driver.

PWAs are already supported in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, on desktops and mobiles, and will be supported in Windows 10's Edge following the Redstone 4 update. The proprietary tool mainly helps to generate a manifest file, build a Service Worker, and then directly publish a PWA in the Microsoft Store.

PWAs for short, these are websites or web apps specially crafted to deliver native app-like experience irrespective of the device platform and form factor. With Microsoft's Authenticator app for iOS or Android, you'll be able to set up an entire PC without ever entering a password. As far as the user is concerned, they'll be just like any other app downloaded from the store. It is a fresh web technology that makes websites work better offline or with very little internet connection.

In addition to crawling for PWAs, Microsoft is inviting developers to submit their PWAs to Microsoft Store.

Unlike Electron apps, such as Microsoft's own Visual Studio Code, PWAs can't include native OS-dependent code.
