At the budget end of the range is the Alcatel 1X, this first device in the all-new 1 Series.

A smartphone with a 5.7-inch, bezel-less, FullView 18:9 display and premium brushed metallic unibody design. Some of the other specifications mentioned are 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, 5MP front camera with f/2.4 aperture, 3000mAh battery, dual-SIM support and fingerprint sensor at the back.

Meanwhile, the company has launched two Android 8.1 Oreo operating system based tablets with 7 and 10 inch IPS screens.

The main difference between the tablets is their displays: the 7 has a 7-inch 1024 x 600 display, and the 10 has a 10-inch 1280 x 800 display.

Rounding out the Alcatel 5′s feature set is a 3,000mAh battery, fingerprint reader, and Android Nougat.

While the Alcatel 5 does not offer a rear dual-lens camera system, the lower-priced 3 series has two such models to choose from. This entry-level phone offers a 5.3-inch 960×480 screen, quad-core MediaTek MT6739 processor, 1 or 2GB of RAM, 8MP or 13MP rear camera, and a 5MP front camera. The Alcatel 3 and 3X will be hitting the market in March and April, while the Alcatel 3V will be available in select markets starting today. It will be available in color choices of Spectrum Black, Blue, and Gold. The tablet has a quad-core MediaTek MT8321A/D SoC clocked at 1.3GHz, paired with 1GB of RAM.

Puzzling is the fact that only the 3 and 3V are running Android Oreo. The new tablets, dubbed the Alcatel 1T 10 and Alcatel 1T 7, run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and come with a proprietary Kids mode. It includes a 5MP front and back cameras, 16GB expandable storage, 1GB RAM, quad-core MediaTek MT8321 processor and 4000mAh battery.

After announcing it at CES 2018, Alcatel has launched the first Android Go smartphone called the Alcatel 1X.

Alcatel say that the 2K (2160x1080) resolution display here will make the 3V the best option for those seeking more "immersive viewing" experiences.

On the camera front, there is a 12MP + 2MP dual rear cameras and a 5MP single selfie camera. The camera can also capture images at 16MP resolution. A powerful 2460mAh battery supplies the required power.

These models run on Android Go - Google's stripped-down version of Android optimized for lower-end hardware. The Alcatel 5 will cost under AUD$300 locally and ought to be available some time after the middle of this year. The Alcatel 1X with single SIM and dual SIM support will be available in April for Euro 100 and Euro 110 respectively.
