A Palestinian man was killed in clashes on Friday with the Israeli army in the West Bank city of Hebron, the Palestinian health ministry said, as hundreds of Palestinians demonstrated against the moving of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem.

The official Palestinian news agency Wafa said Jabari had disabilities, without further details.

Dozens of Palestinians protested throughout the West Bank on Friday including in the cities of Hebron, Nablus, Ramllah and in Kfar Kadum.

Since last December, Palestinians have staged frequent demonstrations in the occupied territories to protest U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

The Palestinians see east Jerusalem as the capital of their future state.

In line with global law, the European Union said it does not recognise Israelآ's sovereignty over the territories occupied by Israel since June 1967, including East Jerusalem, and does not consider them to be part of Israelآ's territory, irrespective of their legal status under domestic Israeli law.

The status of Jerusalem, Israel's largest city and Palestine's planned capital, should it achieve sovereignty, has always been a hurdle in the peace process.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there were 6,119 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli custody as of February.
