The company controls an estimated one percent of the mobile phone global market share and is continuing last year's strategy of Nokia nostalgia by releasing updates of old classic feature phones. Apps run on a smart feature OS based on KaiOS, which apparently contains elements of Mozilla's abandoned Firefox OS.

Around the back is a 2-megapixel camera with LED flash, and inside is 4GB of storage and 512MB of RAM.

Built with a 5.5-inch display screen, the phone now boasts a dual-camera system at the rear with a 12-megapixel primary camera and ZEISS optics, while the front-facing five-megapixel camera offers a wide-angle lens. A new, 4G-ready version of Nokia's 8110 is priced at 79 euros ($97).

The event started with HMD Global CEO Florian Seiche announcing that Nokia had sold 70 million handsets in its first year, also saying that this has given the company a reason to double down in 2018 with a long-term ambition of becoming one of the largest global smartphone makers. HMD Global has retained the curved back - and as the original, you can slide the keyboard cover down.

Like Nokia's other new smartphones, the 7 Plus will arrive in April so the exact release date is yet to be confirmed.

Nokia launched its own camera application in 2013 for Windows Phones and Microsoft later rebranded the application to the Lumia Camera.

Roughly 70 rivers were in flood stage as of midday Monday in the central U.S. , the National Weather Service said. Businesses along Main Street had moved to higher ground and residents along the river prepared their homes.

The phone itself is 2 mm thick and has a 5.5-inch display.

While the phone does come with extra features like wireless charging and an IP67 water resistance rating, Nokia did leave out a few things that some users might not like. You'll also find the game Snake - because what Nokia is complete without it? It's finished in an attractive two-tone anodised paint job with bands of shiny copper or silver trim surrounding the rear, the front and the camera module.

Samsung - The Korean tech giant unveiled the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+, the latest versions of its flagship Galaxy line of phones.

Performance with a Snapdragon 835 processor was as good as we expected it, though without many apps to run we won't have a better idea of how well this phone runs till we conduct our full review.

HMD took over the Nokia feature phone business from Microsoft in 2016 and struck a deal with Nokia Oyj to use the brand on smartphones.
