Freeman gives the Broncos much-needed depth at running back heading into the season.

The Broncos went back to defense with their second third-round selection, choosing Boston College cornerback Isaac Yiadom, who broke up 17 passes in the last two seasons.

With No. 1 receiver Demaryius Thomas turning 30 last Christmas, No. 2 receiver Emmanuel Sanders playing this season at 31, Jordan Taylor coming off hip surgery, and Carlos Henderson (0) and Isaiah McKenzie (4) combining for 4 catches past year, the Broncos desperately needed a young, No. 3 receiver.

"I am a guy who is going to come to the field and demand respect wherever I am on the field - whether it is in the slot, whether it is on the outside, on the right or the left", Sutton said during a conference call. "They played me at safety but Coach Jones saw that I had the ball skills and they needed some grit on that other side of the ball". Sutton is coming off a strong 2017 campaign where he made 68 catches for 1,085 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.

"I am going to do it above and beyond with what is inside of me".
