How To Watch The 2018 White House Correspondents' Dinner

President Donald Trump treated White House journalists' children to an Oval Office visit today but left their parents, many of whom he criticises, outside looking in through the windows.

"Are you trying to say that this administration is the champion of a free press?" asked the White House correspondent.

"While the fake news media will be celebrating themselves with the denizens of Washington society in the swamp that evening, President Trump will be in a completely different Washington, celebrating our national economic revival with patriotic Americans", said campaign chief operating officer Michael Glassner in a statement.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders took questions from the children of White House journalists for a mock press briefing during Thursday's "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day" events.

During Trump's rally previous year, the President mocked the correspondents' dinner taking place back in Washington.

Alfie Evans' parents to meet doctors in bid to take him home
Hospital officials at Alder Hey say they have received "unprecedented personal abuse" from the global backlash to Alfie's case. Alfie's doctors say he has an undiagnosed neurological condition that has resulted in serious and irreparable brain damage.

He praised the children as being "well behaved" and invited them into the Oval Office.

"They want to be reporters, can you believe it?"

On the way in, Trump took the time to defend Rear Adm. Ronny Jackson, who had withdrawn from consideration to head the Department of Veterans Affairs earlier in the day. And she said his favorite candy is pink and red Starbursts.

Comey, Sanders said, "did some things that weren't really very nice".

"After President Trump makes America great again, what job will there be for future presidents?" According to a pool report, Trump told the kids, "Honestly, the children ask me better questions, if you want to know the truth".
