To be honest, Solo feels like fan fiction. There's enough smoke generating to know that an Obi-Wan movie is going to happen and likely in 2020 before a Lando Calrissian movie. The final result is a fairly entertaining film that is nonetheless completely middle-of-the-road.

"This is lovely", Emilia Clarke (Qi'ra) said in the video, presumably referring to the stunning costumes. They finally have a moment to escape, but at the last minute Qi'ra is caught, while Solo runs free. Well, fear not Star Wars fans: Solo comes in at a very respectable 72% on the Tomatometer.

In hindsight, tackling such a beloved character - 41 years to the day after "Star Wars'" introduction with "A New Hope" - presented an especially daunting task, inviting sky-high expectations.

Nonetheless, the love story is surprisingly deep, featuring a sense of genuine chemistry between the two leads. Firstly, they need a reliable starship.

The beauty portrays interstellar criminal Val in director Ron Howard's new Han Solo spin-off, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and she donned a stellar couture Vivienne Westwood dress to attend the screening on the French Riviera.

Police offer praise to Wisconsin high school for 'best senior prank'
Perhaps this no-harm-done prank approach will inspire other high schoolers around the country in their own end-of-year antics. Seniors at a Wisconsin high school pulled off what police are calling one of the best senior pranks they've ever seen.

The new Star Wars movie had gone through a bumpy production process. Even as we start to see the vestiges of who Han Solo will become pile up-each one done for maximum audience cheers-the script by Lawrence and Jonathan Kasdan gives us twists to the plot that feel like a proper heist movie.

"Solo" is the first of a planned series of films focused on young Han Solo, played by Alden Ehrenreich. "So when there would come a job where that was maybe being discussed, again, it's shocking - actually shocking". But (Ron) Howard has given him precious little to capture by way of an arresting production design or palette. As with any other movie in which the original director was sacked and replaced with another midway through production, it's not clear which director or directors are responsible for which scenes. Lando has a sidekick too, a droid called L3, voiced by a scene-stealing Phoebe Waller-Bridge. She believes that Lando has feelings for her, men and robots can definitely have sex, and even convinces other robots to rise up against their masters. It's a fun, unexpectedly bold adventure that reaches edges of the Star Wars galaxy never thought imaginable on the big screen. Ultimately, she isn't given enough to do.

Since Han Solo always represented the sneering, cynical flipside to the Skywalker clan's gee-whiz journey of Jedi self-discovery, spiritual breakdown, and forgiveness, much of Solo concerns its namesake figuring out how to tell actual good guys from the bad ones. Whatever your opinion of The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, they were full of gorgeous, memorable shots. It's just yet another interesting connection to the Star Wars lore, leaving more possibilities for story in the future, while giving Davis a more substantial part in the ongoing narrative.
