Wanting to win a Game 7 is admirable, but leaves room for disappointment.

The Warriors, led by Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, tried to force a Game 7 against the Rockets, led by James Harden. James Harden is averaging 28.4 points and 6.9 assists while Chris Paul is averaging 21.1 points and 5.8 assists. The Rockets made their 3-pointers, but they shot just 40.3 percent from the field and 52.9 percent at the foul line.

A dynamic, star-studded series projected to be as captivating and compelling as the actual NBA Finals is going the distance.

The Rockets scored 39, 22, 16 and 9 points in each of the four quarters of game six.

Golden State typically performs well in third quarters and Houston never quite recovered. They're 7-2 in Houston this postseason with one of their losses coming in Game 1 of this series.

He was a combined 20 of 32 from 3-point range in those two games. On Saturday when the Rockets were being blown out in Oakland, the Astros were dropping a game to the Indians in Cleveland. We're going to do what we've got to do to win this game. "But we'll have to kind of play it by ear for now".

The Warriors outscored Houston 93-47 over the final three quarters. Curry did it again moments later from deep.

The Warriors trailed by as many as 17 points in the first half Saturday night before using a splendid second half to roll to a 115-86 victory.

Golden State forward Andre Iguodala was out for a third straight game this series after he sustained a bone bruise in his left knee during Game 3. Turnovers began cropping up between the made 3-pointers and eventually the former overwhelmed the latter. "That first quarter we did a really good job of communicating, limiting them on threes, just contesting everything, making everything hard". Harden shot 4 for 12 on 3s.

The Dubs produced a lethargic performance as they committed 16 turnovers on the night and didn't shoot the ball particularly well. Where was Kevin Durant in this late-game fiasco? He said the soreness diminished significantly between Games 3 and 4.

If at any point of the season (or the summer before the season) anyone had said the Rockets would be at home for game seven against the Golden State Warriors for a chance to go to the NBA Finals, we would all have absolutely been happy to accept. But he did address what it would mean to Golden State if he's healthy enough to go on today. "So for us that's our challenge to have the same mentality we had for the last 36 minutes of (Game 6) and bring that from the jump in Game 7". He quickly grabbed a rebound.

"He's devastated. He has to be".

D'Antoni acknowledged that Paul is "devastated" by the setback and described the rest of the Rockets as "devastated for him".

"Obviously with Chris being down, that's [tough], but we're a confident team", Rockets reserve swingman Gerald Green said. And him being here is a big deal, and him being on the bench is a big deal. For what it's worth, though, The Big Lead revealed that Warriors coach Steve Kerr previously had some high praise for Strauss so this wouldn't be shocking.

I can already sense you looking at the title and asking yourself the same question. From the Celtics' perspective, they just need to make him work hard for them.

For the Warriors to advance to the NBA Finals for the fourth consecutive season, they'll have to flip that script when the teams meet on Monday - especially if Paul is able to suit up and somehow be a factor.

"Yeah, we've been trying to get back to being us all series", Kerr said. "I believe in our boys", said Thaddeus Gill. "Game 7 at our house, that's what we've worked the entire regular season for (is) to get home-court advantage".

"Once we settled down and we got the defense in a better position, then we started moving the ball, and the game felt more like a Warriors game".

Most of the Houston Rockets' players struggled getting into their normal spots. "We've got too much talent not just to hit singles like Coach always says". "Not all is lost". He points that teams are more willing in the National Basketball Association to concede defeat when they know they are overmatched. That's my pregame meal, so I'm up two games - well, the three games here, that's what I ate before the game. "Probably doubtful, however they list it, or questionable", D'Antoni said Sunday, per Tim MacMahon of ESPN. "They see the challenge. whether CP's there or not, it's a heck of a challenge, and they're up to it". Try to change it up a little bit, give them different looks.
