DeAndre Jordan Opts Out of Deal with Los Angeles Clippers

Jordan is both close friends with Kevin Durant, and a former client of Bob Myers, according to Marc Stein of ESPN. Jordan kept the basketball world waiting until the last day with a few hours to spare, but eventually, he made a decision to decline his option for next season. With tax penalties included, that deal would cost Golden State approximately $27 million next season. "There is no doubt he will be back next season, possibly using $4.4M cap-room exception to re-sign him".

The 29-year-old averaged 12.0 points and a career-high 15.2 rebounds last season.

In July 2015, he verbally agreed to join the Mavs on a four-year, $80 million contract during the moratorium period before contracts could be officially signed.

Jordan had until 11:59 p.m. ET Friday to make a decision on whether to exercise the option.

The Times reported earlier this week the Clippers gave Jordan and his agent, Jeff Schwartz, permission to seek a trade, and that the Mavericks were targeting the center. The deal with Dallas is reportedly approaching the same amount, according to Stein. Jordan, who will turn 30 next month, could also decline the option and become an unrestricted free agent.

India happy with OPEC decision to raise output
The spread was as wide as $11.57 on June 1, but had started contracting ahead of OPEC's expected supply increase, analysts said. On Friday, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies agreed to modestly boost global crude supplies.

The Mavericks are two years into their own reconstruction, with 2017 first-round pick Dennis Smith Jr. joined by another player who will begin his National Basketball Association career as a teenager in European standout Luka Doncic.

That situation still remains as one of the biggest head-scratchers in recent National Basketball Association history, and will live on in infamy for a long time.

The Mavericks are going after DeAndre Jordan in free agency. He has averaged at least 13.6 rebounds per game in each of those seasons, as well.

Three years later, Jordan once again has a chance to end up in Texas.
