The cards are based on Nvidia's new Turing architecture, which uses real-time ray tracing and AI for rich graphics rendering.

The non-Founders Edition versions of the cards, which aren't available through the Nvidia website, start from $US499 internationally. The new chips, which will cost $499 for the GeForce RTX 270 and $999 for the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, are available for preorders now and will be widely available as of september 20.

Gigabyte has four cards spanning the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti SKUs under the WindForce OC and Gaming OC families. It's the first time Nvidia has put out a gaming-grade graphics card without the GTX moniker since 2008. There is also an RTX 2070 model coming in October, but for now, the RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080 units will be hitting the store shelves. MSI's new Gaming X Trio and Duke cards adopt a new triple-cooler design with LED lighting effects.

We've known that Nvidia was planning a big push for real-time ray tracing in games since March when the first demos were shown off. When the GTX 780, GTX 980 and the GTX 1080 were launched the Ti cards followed several months later.

As previously announced, Nvidia will be holding a presentation at this year's Gamescom in Cologne, Germany.

Impeachment would ‘crash’ the economy
He declared that while he's attorney general "the actions" of the DOJ "will not be improperly influenced by political considerations".

Although there's no onscreen readout, you can see where the game really stutters and slows down, the footage turns choppy.

At the top of the stack is the ZOTAC RTX 2080 Ti AMP video card. After showing a trailer for Battlefield V, which supports the new technology, Huang announced that the game will go into open beta on Sep. 6.

New NGX neural graphics framework integrates AI into the overall graphics pipeline, enabling AI algorithms to perform awesome image enhancement and generation. Shadow of the Tomb Raider isn't an entirely finished game yet and the RTX 2080Ti would have been running on pre-release drivers.

Bringing real-time Ray Tracing to games is a significant development in terms of making games more realistic, but game designers will have to bake it into the game, as it's not something that could just appear on an older title with this new GPU. Based on initial performance data, not to mention all the new features like the RT cores and Tensor cores, demand is going to be high.

New and enhanced technologies to improve performance of VR applications, including Variable Rate Shading, Multi-View Rendering and VRWorks Audio.
