Olivia Newton-John has confirmed she's facing her third battle with cancer.

The Grease star has undergone radiation therapy for the new tumour at the base of her spine, and says she's also being aided by medical marijuana that her husband of 10 years, John Easterling, grows at the couple's ranch in Santa Barbara, California.

"She told the show: "I thought 'It's my life" and I just made a decision to keep it to myself".

Newton-John survived her initial breast cancer diagnosis in 1992 but revealed that it had returned in 2013.

In early 2013, Olivia was involved in a minor auto accident, and a lump appeared in her right shoulder.

Sir Cliff said he was confident his friend would pull through, saying: "You can't help but think the worst but most of the time I think: she's thrashed this one before, she's not going to lie down on this one - never".

"No, I don't go there". There are moments, I'm human.

The singer has a cancer center named after her in Melbourne, Australia, the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness Research Center.

Despite her multiple bouts with cancer, Newton-John says she focuses on other things as a means of staying strong.

Last year, she was forced to cancel her tour after learning she had "breast cancer that [had] metastasised to the sacrum".
