Saturday's dismal 3-1 defeat against West Ham was their third of the season - and we've only played seven games. However, United defender Luke Shaw believed that the players should take the blamed and not the manager, Jose Mourinho.

Following on from that, despite travelling with the team down to London for the Saturday lunchtime clash with West Ham, Sanchez was dropped from the match day squad completely.

Shaw was scathing in his assessment of United's display at London Stadium, saying: "If you want the truth, I think it was honestly horrendous".

"I look at their performances and I think it's appalling, some of their performances have not been good enough".

"That's not good enough". But the move which is costing them a basic salary of £391,000-a-week now appears an expensive mistake with Mourinho plotting to offload the 29 year-old.Many agree that Arsenal are struggling in the wide areas at the moment.

"It was not good enough from a Manchester United team with all the talent we have", said Shaw, 23.

The Red Devils came into the match having already been sensationally eliminated from the EFL Cup following a penalty shoot-out loss at home to second-tier Derby County.

Earlier in the week, the United boss confirmed midfielder Paul Pogba would not captain the team again, reportedly because of concerns about his attitude.

"We have to look at ourselves as players", he said. We're the ones who go on the pitch. No they haven't when you look at the likes of [Eden] Hazard who has been performing outstandingly.

"You've got to put it behind you quickly and when you have these types of results you want a game as quickly as possible", wing-back Ashley Young told the club's website.

"Games like this [at West Ham] we should be dominating, creating chances, showing people why we deserve to play for Manchester United". It was very poor from us.
