If you already own Destiny 2 on PC, you obviously can't take advantage of this promotion, but Blizzard says Bungie is giving all existing owners of the game on PC "a special in-game emblem marking the game's anniversary that will be available in December".

PC users can download Destiny 2 for free today through November 18 and keep it forever. Keep in mind that like Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Destiny 2 is exclusive to Blizzard's PC client, Battle.net and is not on Steam. But remember this is just the base game that's limited insofar as multiplayer content and events, and is more of a sampling to whet your appetite and buy into the new $40 Forsaken expansion.

The system requirements are pretty tame for Destiny 2.

The wonderful news was revealed before the Blizzcon 2018 Opening Ceremony, which will include news on Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone and Diablo.

To claim Destiny 2, fire up the Battle.net app and click on the gift icon in the upper-right, as indicated above.

The fanbase is set to grow as new Guardians will be able to enter the world of Destiny 2 for free in November. Hopefully we'll see the Xbox One version of Destiny 2 be free for awhile too.

You don't exactly need a gaming PC to run Destiny 2, but your netbook probably isn't going to cut it. Will you check out the game now that's it doesn't cost a dime?
