Cody Parkey gets support from Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade after missed FG

Cody Parkey of the Bears will be remembered forever after missing one of the biggest kicks in the history of the franchise, a 41-yard kick that would have sent the team to the next round. Instead, after further review, it was changed to a blocked field goal. Parkey just happened to miss multiple kicks over the course of the season. Jake Elliott, the second-year Eagles' kicker who watched from the opposite sideline when Parkey's kick bounced off the uprights at Soldier Field, also offered his support early Monday morning. "Then I heard everybody screaming, I was like, oh, [expletive]. he missed it". "There's really no answer to it". Let's take a closer look at three things that prevented the Bears from advancing in the postseason, and stop pointing the finger at Parkey (at least for now).

If there's any consolation for Parkey, it appears Eagles defensive tackle Treyvon Hester tipped the ball as it sailed over the line of scrimmage. The tip by Hester was so subtle that the NBC broadcast didn't even mention it. It's a really tough job, and I just wanted to make sure he understood that we all had his back.

Government shutdown could hinder speed of tax refund
While refunds may be delayed, if you owe the government money, you will still have to pay it on-time. File your tax return but don't count on having your refund any time soon.

Although Parkey took the blame for the Bears' gut-wrenching loss, Long said the rest of the team shares the blame. He helped transform Trubisky, he created a two-headed monster with his rushing attack, and bolstered his defense to be one of the best in the entire NFL.
