Karl-Anthony Towns and the Timberwolves will be playing for interim coach Ryan Saunders presumably for the rest of the season. We've got a good group of people that make things a lot easier...
Saunders is the son of former Timberwolves head coach and President of Basketball Operations Flip Saunders; Flip died in October 2015 after a multi-year battle with Hodgkin's lymphoma.
"I'm just taking everything day by day", Saunders said.
The Minnesota Timberwolves could have interest in Hoiberg in either a head coaching or general manager capacity. "I wanted it to be made on what I said, we gave it about a half a year's worth of games, and it wasn't one particular loss that did it. We just lost against a bunch of teams that we're a better team". However, Thibodeau was a driving force in bringing the Timberwolves back the playoffs after a 13-year dry spell. In two-plus seasons with Minnesota, he guided the club to a 97-107 record.

QPR defeated Championship leaders Leeds by the same scoreline, Jake Bidwell grabbing a 75th-minute victor for the west London club.
Hoiberg worked in Minnesota's front office following his retirement as an National Basketball Association player, and Wolves owner Glen Taylor has a well-known affection for him, according to league sources.
Per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Taylor is seriously considering hiring Fred Hoiberg as the Timberwolves new coach or general manager in the future.
"You really don't get much sleep, getting thrown into this thing", Saunders said Tuesday morning, January 8, at the Timberwolves' shootaround. It's already been a whirlwind of a season thanks to Sunday's firing of Thibodeau and the Jimmy Butler trade on November 12.
Hoiberg - whose name has come up in relation to the UCLA coaching search - told Zach Lowe of ESPN what he wants to do is coach, not work in a front office again.
