We'll see if it has staying power, but EA's new game Apex Legends has quickly rocketed past market leader Fortnite, with over 25 million sign-ups in just one week. Anyone still playing Titanfall 2 before Apex Legends released is very, very good at Titanfall 2.

If you haven't heard of "Apex Legends", there's a reason for that. Furthermore, the group drop-in system gives teams a more efficient way to land in close proximity to each other; no fall damage is like a gift from the gaming gods; and respawning downed teammates gives players a second chance to get back in to the fight.
Only time will tell whether Apex Legends can sustain explosive growth and stick around for as long as Fortnite has.
