The statement ended with the reveal that "Respawn also plans to launch a premium game this year that is a new twist on the Titanfall universe", despite Respawn CEO Vince Zampella emphasising that a third entry wasn't on the cards just hours prior. We think about franchises with tremendously large communities like Federation Internationale de Football Association, and we think that they would absolutely benefit from cross-play and cross-progress, as more and more people come into these big communities. It's not clear yet whether or not EA will add microtransactions to this mode, as Activision has done for the battle royale mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
While we can't comment on that, because we don't know what's going on with that either, we can safely say that there is more Titanfall related content coming this year! Taking to Twitter, Zampella revealed that the studio is, in fact, "working on more Titanfall for later in the year" and that the team "loves being able to experiment in this insane universe". The reality of playing with friends across different platforms is still new, so it should gain more traction as time goes on. Fortnite and Rocket League both have jumped into the cross-play scene and have received much praise for doing so.
China opposes U.S. withdrawal from INF
Whether the United States will now respond by deploying INF non-compliant missiles in Asia is unclear. The U.S. cited Russia's continued development of long-range missiles as the reason for the decision.
Don't forget, Apex Legends is set in the Titanfall universe, so anything's possible. Based on the wording, it may not be a mainline Titanfall game, like we'd expect.
"I think that we made the right decision to move the title in service of the quality of the game". Taking aim at the game's story, CFO Blake Jorgensen explained that the developer's focus shouldn't have been on the single-player portion of the experience, but rather the battle royale mode, Firestorm, which had to be delayed until March 2019.
