Boston Celtics' Al Horford (42) pumps his fist after being fouled while making a basket by Indiana Pacers' Bojan Bogdanovic, rear, during the second quarter in Game 1 of a first-round NBA basketball playoff series, Sunday, April 14, 2019, in Boston. The Celtics did not have to chip away because they kind of devoured the Pacers in the third quarter instead, outscoring them to the tune of 26-8 in the period. At the beginning of the season if I were to have told you that the Celtics and Pacers would meet in the playoffs, you'd probably think Brad Stevens and the C's have the coaching advantage, but I'm not so sure about that anymore.

Joseph finished with 14 points and Bojan Bogdanovic 12 for IN, which shot 33.3 percent for the game overall. The 29 points that IN scored IN the second half were its worst of the season. "We were getting wide open looks and they were rattling in-and-out or they were just missed shots". But transition defense remained an issue for the Pacers as the Celtics outscored IN 24-14 on the fastbreak.

Hayward will be playing in the playoffs for the first time as a member of the Celtics.

While the Pacers lack a star, the Celtics have a number of players who can shine.

Alberta Party Leader Stephen Mandel lost in Edmonton-McClung and Liberal Leader David Khan failed to win in Calgary Mountain-View. UCP leader Jason Kenney said in a victory speech in Calgary on Tuesday. "Can't change my mind now", she added with a laugh.

With a one game to zero lead, the Celtics are in the driver's seat for the series, but by no means do they have any reason to become complacent. They finished the season with a record identical to last season, 48-34, and they did it despite two-time All-Star Victor Oladipo only appearing in 36 games.

"We held them to 84 points".

The 12 points in the opening 12 minutes marked Morris's highest scoring output in any quarter this season. Jaylen Brown got the start for Marcus Smart, who is out with a torn oblique, and made just one of the five shots he attempted.

While his team was able to recover from a dismal start, Stevens said the Pacers' defense deserved credit for making things hard on them throughout the game. The Boston Celtics are allowing 22.2 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 55 rebounds per game.
