In London, climate activists with the Extinction Rebellion group chained and superglued themselves to the home of U.K. Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn Wednesday, as part of a third day of direct action protests aimed at spurring urgent action on climate change.

The group wants the British government to declare a climate and ecological emergency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2025, halt biodiversity loss and be led by new "citizens' assemblies on climate and ecological justice". She told reporters she had been inspired to join after watching the movement over the last week, Britain's Press Association reported.

However, those arrests have resulted in only 10 charges.

"There is a deep remorse for those whose holiday and family plans will be disrupted tomorrow".

Extinction Rebellion started major protests over London this week as they occupied major traffic arteries and commuter hotspots.

Extinction Rebellion has called on supporters to meet at Heathrow Airport on Good Friday as thousands of holidaymakers prepare to depart for the long weekend.

"We expect demonstrations to continue throughout the coming weeks", the police statement said.

The group began demonstrating on Monday at central locations including Parliament Square, Waterloo Bridge and Oxford Circus, often laying down on roads and bridges. "This allows us to free up significant numbers of officers whilst responding to local policing".

The Metropolitan Police cancelled some officers' leave and called in assistance from other forces to deal with the protests, which the force said were causing "unacceptable" disruption.

Recent reports say that four activists connected to the group have glued themselves together in front of Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn's home, demanding that the Labour Party take an even more severe stance against climate change. Three demonstrators were arrested after stopping Docklands Light Railway services at Canary Wharf station on Wednesday.
