The team unveiled revamped uniforms and a tweaked team logo at an event in midtown Manhattan on Thursday night.
"If we don't play well, the uniforms don't look good", Darnold said.
For the first time in more than 20 years, the New York Jets have made a decision to completely redesign their uniforms. The tagline, which will be used throughout the stadium and at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center, is a call to action for players and fans to celebrate the future of New York Jets football.
The Jets go into 2019 with a new head coach in Adam Gase, several big-name free agent acquisitions in Le'Veon Bell, C.J. Mosley, and Jamison Crowder, and the No. 3 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. The refreshed logo features the letters "JETS" in white, with a white football under it. "That meant respecting the Jets rich tradition, while also taking an exciting leap forward with a bold, youthful, modern and fearless look which embodies the New York Jets".
Joe Biden: 'I'm not sorry'
As to where he falls on ideological lines, Biden added: "I'm an Obama-Biden Democrat, man". But Biden also appeared to tip is hand once again.
"Hope you guys enjoy the uniforms, I know the players did", he added. "We wanted a look that our fans and players would be proud of".
"Sure, it was a little bit of a disappointment, but it's not the end of the world", he said.
The party drew several former Jets greats, including Hall of Famers Joe Namath and Curtis Martin.
From a historical perspective, the Jets change uniforms every 20 years, give or take.
