"This process is going along very well and my original timetable of being able to release this by mid-April stands", Barr said.
Barr wouldn't discuss the substance of Mueller's findings but did explain some of his process for receiving and reviewing the report and what to expect when it is released: He said the redactions will be color-coded and accompanied by notes explaining the decision to withhold information.
"Within a week I will be in a position to release the report to the public", Barr told a congressional panel in his first public remarks since Special Counsel Robert Mueller completed his investigation last month.
The Democratic majority on the House Judiciary Committee voted to authorize Nadler to issue a subpoena for Mueller's work product and evidence if necessary, but Barr's comments on Tuesday suggested that might not be necessary - although granting access to Nadler might also take place after the redacted Mueller report has been released.
Attorney General Bill Barr has not hesitated to assume full control of the Justice Department, and he appears unafraid of the brewing fight with Democrats in Congress over the release and redactions of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report on the Russian Federation investigation.
"I am reviewing the conduct of the investigation and trying to get my arms around all the aspects of the counterintelligence investigation that was conducted during the summer of 2016", Barr said during the hearing.

"I'm glad to talk to Chairman Nadler and Chairman Graham as to whether they feel they need more information and if there's a way we can accommodate that", Barr said.

Tuesday's Department of Justice budget hearing will be Barr's first time on Capitol Hill since Mueller filed his report on the Russian Federation probe and possible ties to President Donald Trump's 2016 campaign. They also want all of the underlying documents from the investigation.
Meanwhile, Trump falsely claimed again Wednesday that the Mueller report had found "no obstruction".
Barr's letter also revealed that the Special Counsel did "not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him", regarding obstruction of justice charges.
