Gary Neville: Alexis Sanchez's career at Manchester United is finished

Another David de Gea blunder gave Chelsea a share of the spoils after Juan Mata had fired United into a 1-0 lead.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, appointed following United's upset Champions League victory over PSG, has overseen a horrendous run in which United have won just twice in their last eleven matches across all competitions, culminating in the Red Devils elimination from the top four race.

Speaking before the game, Neville spoke in no uncertain terms about Sanchez, insisting the Chilean was finished at this level.

Single triumphs in the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Europa League mark the sole additions to United's trophy cabinet in the last six years, a record Young recognises is not good enough for a club of their stature. "This is not a team", said the former United defender, "and the more I watch this, it's not a team". Sanchez is a big expensive mistake - one United have made before and will, you suspect, make again.

But the match would end 1-1, with Solskjaer going over to the United fans straight after the final whistle. Of course it's disappointing, we should have and could have played better.

Solskjaer's side now can not qualify for next season's Champions League, while a sixth-place finish in the second Europa League berth now looks likely.

Solskjaer also conceded that, on balance, United deserved to only play Europa League football next season after an underwhelming campaign.

A group of scientists and fishermen found the whale swimming near their boat off Ingoya, an Arctic island, asking for food. Both creatures have been used to detect ammunition at mines at deep-sea level, according to the publication.

"I've no doubt they needed to move on from him, you could see he was damaging the club to a certain extent, and everyone's saying if we can bring in more players in the summer that might be the way forward".

He explained: "We have had so many opportunities to grab third or fourth but we didn't". We didn't win there last season (in the league) so it's a good challenge for us.

Chelsea are 21 points behind second-placed Manchester City, who could go top with a home win over Leicester City on Monday.

"Well they're not letting me down, we're a team, we're a team together".

"But since Sir Alex Ferguson left they've spent £744m and what they've done is try to buy the Harlem Globetrotters, not necessarily players to make a team".

Scott McTominay had put United in front in the first half, but Solskjaer's men never looked convincing.
