Apple launches Mac Pro with modular design and 1.5TB RAM

And just as the second generation ditched the original design to more closely resemble a trash can, Apple has switched things up again, this time going for more of a cheese grater kind of look.

Apple's new Mac Pro sits on display in the showroom during Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) in San Jose, California on June 3, 2019.

That's all good and well, but far and away the most interesting part of the new Mac Pro is in its expansion slots.

Apple has today killed off the much-loved iTunes app, which was also a hassle, to now provide the users with new, standalone, and more capable Apple Music, Podcasts and Apple TV apps. Scroll down and you'll see a "See Mac Pro in AR" option. And for super quiet operation, the MPX Module is cooled by the Mac Pro system thermals. And while they both enjoy similar form-factors, the two can't be more different. This time, Apple says the Mac Pro is built with upgrades in mind, but it's a very Apple approach to upgrading your computer. Hosted by Tim Cook, the keynote had a lot to offer, announcing a slew of new hardware and software updates for Apple users. An Apple spokesperson staffing the demo area confirmed that an AR-compatible file will also be available on the Mac Pro's product page for anyone to download.

There's quite a large gap between minimum and maximum spec, with the basic model Mac Pro without a monitor priced at $5,999 and highest end spec estimated somewhere around $35,000. Twist it and the entire aluminum chassis can be lifted up to get to the machine's components.

Apple's latest operating system for Macs, macOS Catalina, is not only exciting for owners of current Mac computers - it could hold big hints for the next major MacBook Pro.

Ex-Real Madrid predict gives his verdict on Hazard move
Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard says it is up to the Blues and Real Madrid to come to an agreement over his future. We need to speak like at any club at the end of the season".

The handles are stainless steel.

Find My Mac will be now called Find My and will help you find your lost or stolen devices even easier - now it can be done even when the Mac is offline.

Then there are ports: the base model comes with four Thunderbolt 3 ports, two USB-A ports, and two 10 Gb Ethernet ports. When Apple first showed off the HomePod smart speaker, some on Twitter saw a design inspired by a roll of toilet paper.

Of course, Apple-designed wheels are gonna be super minimalist.

The 32-inch Pro Display XDR looks nuts.

It might not be able to drive 6K gaming at 60FPS on the Pro Display XDR display, but it does cost less than the display's stand. An optional matte finish is created by etching the display's glass at a nanometer scale. We still don't know if Apple will allow users to add extra storage themselves, which would bring the price down. For those who also want the $5,000 Pro Display XDR monitor and its $1,000 Pro Stand, the amount jumps above $50,000. The 28.2 Teraflops of graphical performance are ludicrous: for example, it is more than 4 Microsoft Xbox One X, the current most powerful gaming console, combined. But it's not just a bright backlight at work here.
