The first trailer for Disney's "Mulan" live-action remake is here. And, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the film's director Niki Caro is only the second woman at the studio to direct a film with a $100 million budget, after filmmaker Ava DuVernay.
However, fans do have several gripes about the film including the lack of comedic flair, the same ole male love interest and of course, the fact that Mushua-Mulan's guardian dragon is MIA. The clip begins with Mulan's parents discussing her matchmaking prospects. "Being a Chinese folk story there's definitely very good potential for - if it's very successful - those people who really enjoy to potentially look out the sites where it was filmed".
Even Kevin Smith ("Clerks") noted that he was excited, but he missed Mushu.

As we gear up for the release of Disney's remake of The Lion King, the animation giants have teased us once again with a new trailer of a much-loved classic. Mulan is no longer the self-conscious teenager who disappoints her parents by failing to become the ideal wife, before her fierce and handsome transformation into the woman she wants to be.
Mulan's first teaser trailer airs today and Jimmy Wong, who plays Ling in the remake, has teased where fans can see it.
To be honest, if it wasn't for the words "Disney" and "Mulan" all over the trailer, you wouldn't have guessed it's a remake of the animated feature at all. Mulan then said, "It is my duty to fight". "It is an epic journey that will transform her into an honoured warrior and earn her the respect of a grateful nation...and a proud father".
Mulan will be in cinemas in March 2020.
